Roald Dahl was a spy, ace fighter pilot, chocolate historian and medical inventor. He was also the author of Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG and many more brilliant stories.

Quentin Blake (Illustrator)
Quentin Blake has illustrated more than three hundred books and was Roald Dahl's favourite illustrator. In 1980 he won the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal. In 1999 he became the first ever Children's Laureate and in 2013 he was knighted for services to illustration.

– I denne andre delen av Roald Dahls selvbiografi, forteller han oss om sine krigs historier, og hans opplevelser som pilot. Boka er ganske god, men den er ikke på langt nær så god som Gutt (Boy) er. Dette er en bok som de fleste oppfølgere, som har mista litt av grepet fra eneren. Allikevel er det en spennende historie den har å by på, og jeg anbefaler de fleste å lese den. Det som jeg syntes er verdt å merke seg, er at boka absolutt er en del voldeligere enn Gutt. Det er blant annet en beskrivelse av hvordan en kule treffer en tysker i hodet, og deler av hjernen hans treffer Roald. Det er ikke akkurat delikat. Dette er uten tvil en bok for voksne eller ungdom. Og hvis du ikke er overbevist ennå, så tror jeg nok de som ble litt skremt av Gutt, kommer til å få arr av denne¿ I alle fall en god bok!
