From the mid-1950s to 1970, York Wilson cemented his reputation as Canada's pre-eminent muralist. In Toronto his public commissions included murals for the O'Keefe Centre for the Performing Arts, the Salvation Army, Imperial Oil, Bell Telephone, and Central Hospital. He also completed murals in Thunder Bay, Montreal, Ottawa, and Timmins.
