mechanic, jewellery craftsman and school technician. He is retired and now lives in Bradford. This is his 13th book in the
popular "Know Your" series which also includes Know Your Sheep, Know Your Cattle and Know Your Pigs.
Jack Byard was born in Bradford in Yorkshire where he has lived and worked all his life. He always had a deep affection for
his rural heritage and so wrote his first book, Know Your Sheep, with a view to sharing with others the countryside that he
loves.
