He is the man in the prison who can get anything you need for a price, so has survived for that reason for many years. Andy Dufresne: A younger white man, recently come into the prison, but states that he is innocent, and keeps himself to himself, until one day when in the exercise yard he asks Red if he can get him a certain tool. This is the very best novel Stephen King has produced, the plot is amazing and brilliant, the characters fascinating and the entire book is legendary! This is a must read!
