– Odze et al formidler her en betydelig mengde stoff innen gastrointestinal tractus, inkudert pankreas og lever. Boken er lettlest og rikt illustrert med delikat layout. Hvert kapittel har en oversiktstabell med klassifikasjon av tilstandene. Et svakt punkt her er at disse ofte ikke stemmer overens med WHO-klassifikasjonene, og for enkelte tilstander kommer dette uheldig ut. Boken er langt mer omfattende enn det som er nødvendig under medisinstudiet. Boken er orientert mot leger som jobber innen patologi, og fokus er rettet mot diagnostikk og utredning, fremfor mot behandling. Deler av stoffet fremstilles litt rotete sammenliknet med andre bøker i samme katgegori. Bokens styrke ligger i dens layout, og den bør være tilstede ved patologiavdelinger og i medisinske biblioteker.
