– Marquis of Vidal, Dominique er berømt for sin skandaløse oppførsel. Han har fått tilnavnet 'Devil's Cub' siden hans far, The Duke of Avon var om mulig enda mer beryktet for sin ekstreme oppførsel enn ham selv.
Da Mary Challoner oppdager at Dominique planlegger å bortføre hennes vakre men korttenkte søster, tar hun saken i egne hender for å redde halv-søsteren og hennes rykte.

Georgette Heyer achieves what the rest of us only aspire to" -- Katie Fforde "A writer of great wit and style -. I've read her books to ragged shreds" -- Kate Fenton Daily Telegraph»
