Bordessa grew up on a small apple farm in Northern California and is a second-generation 4-H member. She lives in Hawai’i with her family, strives for an abundant vegetable garden, and raises a thriving—and often humorous—chicken flock. Her first book, Attainable Sustainable: The Lost Art of Self-Reliant Living, was published by National Geographic in March 2020 and was named the Best How-To Book of the Year by the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
