– I am a die hard fan of Kurt Vonnegut, and "Cat's Cradle" is one of those books I recommend to everyone, finding it utterly entertaining and funny, filled with sharp irony and sarcasm! Vonnegut's main character in this book is a journalist searching for details of Felix Hoenikker, one of the creators of the atomic bomb. While researching the family he becomes aware of a substance created by Hoenikker known as "ice-nine", a chemical capable of freezing the entire planet. The trail of events then leads him to encounter the remaining family members and many other key characters, all the while leading to the somewhat inevitable and disastrous conclusion. I loved this book for its intelligence and its ability to mock just about everything! The fact that by the end I was almost laughing and crying at the same time, makes Vonnegut a fairly unique and special author! "Cat's Cradle" is written with a very sharp and funny pen, making the book a very entertaining read!
