Boken er god på teknikker, men noen virker relativt obskure. Boken omtaler omtrent alle typer pastell, utenom Pan Pastel. Den er god på mixed media. Den har demonstrasjoner, men ikke typiske steg-for-steg-demoer. Motiv og tema varierer mye. For de som er interessert i ulike typer pasteller, er den svært nyttig. Anbefaler den ikke alene for den som utelukkende er opptatt av landskapsmaling, men et nyttig supplement. Skulle ønske den var oppdatert.
