– Michael B. Oren har med denne boken gjort en meget god jobb i å skildre det politiske klimaet og de lokale forhold i midtøsten på 60-tallet, samt de globale politiske forhold. Boken gir slik sett et meget interessant innblikk i hvordan forholdene mellom Israel og araberlandene var, og hvordan forholdene mellom supermaktene var. Opptrappingen til krigen blir grundig beskrevet, og krigføringen blir også nøye skildret, både med tanke på gjennomføringen og de diplomatiske og politiske konsekvensene av krigens gang. Boken er meget lesverdig og tar med de fleste sider av saken, men eg savner likevel litt mer innsikt i hvordan sovjeterne så på situasjonen. Men at denne siden ikke blir like kraftig belyst som andre har vel kanskje sin naturlige forklaring. For den interesserte er dette en meget nyttig og velskrevet bok.
