– This is the first book I read by Winterson. It all started when I asked an older friend if she could recommend a good book in English. She recommended Written on the Body. I have never regretted that I took her piece of advice. Winterson's book is a fantastic love story. In the book we follow the main character's love relations with both sexes. It intrigues me that the author never reveals if the main character is female or male. In that way, the story can be characterised as post-modern. Except from the interesting story, I love Winterson's language. The language is easy, poetic and beautiful. I can recommend anyone who wants to practise their English and read a good love story to read this book. I was so caught by this book that I just bought another book by Winterson.
