Rachel Crolla and Carl McKeating live on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and are outdoor pursuits all-rounders. They had their earliest cycling adventures together as teenagers in 1994. In 2018, Rachel's guide to the Way of the Roses (Cicerone) was published; her work on the book inspired Carl to ride the whole 170 mile tour in day. Recently the couple have enjoyed fostering a love of cycling in their two children and included many family cycle routes in their book, Outdoor Adventures with Children: Lake District (Cicerone, 2019). They are also the authors of Hadrian's Cycleway (Cicerone, 2020).
