Robin Norwood is a licensed marriage, family and child therapist in private practice. She specialises in treating unhealthy patterns of relating in love relationships, as well as addiction, co-addiction, compulsive eating, and depression, and is the author of several bestselling self-help books. She lives with her husband in Santa Barbara, California.

– Jeg begynte å lese denne boka under et smertefullt oppbrudd fra ett vanskelig forhold, og fra første side kjente jeg igjen meg og mine handlingsmønstre. For hver side som gikk, ble boka en bibel for meg som lærte meg mye om meg selv og hvorfor jeg om og om igjen har havnet i skadelige relasjoner med det motsatte kjønn, hvordan mønstre fra fortiden gjenoppleves i nåtiden. Den forståelse som jeg fikk utifra bokas innhold, ga meg styrke til å kunne bryte opp både fysisk og emosjonelt, og den ga meg mulighet til å gjøre beviste valg om hvordan jeg ville att mitt framtidige liv skulle utarte seg. Anbefales på det sterkeste til kvinner som er eller har vært i destruktive forhold.
