Om forfatteren

Diana Wynne Jones (1934-2011) spent her childhood in Essex and began writing fantasy novels for children in the 1970s. With her unique combination of magic, humour and imagination, she enthralled generations of children and adults with her work. She won the Guardian Award in 1977 with Charmed Life, was runner-up for the Children's Book Award in 1981 and was twice runner-up for the Carnegie Medal.

– Internatskolen Larwood House ligger i en verden der magi straffes med døden. Derfor er det ikke rart Mr Crossley blir sjokkert når han finner en anonym lapp der det står at noen i klassen han underviser er en heks. Dette er bare begynnelsen på noen dager fulle av merkelige hendelser, magi og dramatikk for barna i klassen. "Witch Week" er en uforutsigbar, medrivende og ofte hysterisk morsom bok. Du vet aldri hva som kommer til å skje, og dette, kombinert med det faktum at den er meget godt skrevet og har noen fantastiske hendelser, gjør det til en sann glede å lese den. I tillegg er det en fascinerende verden den finner sted i, og helt sikkert en som mange barn vil få stor glede av.
